Actually, that's furthest from the truth. Oregon was god awful before Carroll had his run with USC (which started in 2000), only winning 5 total conference titles from 1893-2000 and only playing in a total of 14 bowl games during that time span; Oregon didn't even play in a bowl game from 1963-1989. During Carroll's run at USC, Oregon was average to below average from '00-'09, going 4-5 in bowl games and only winning the Pac 10 title 3 times in Carroll's ten year reign. Ducks also finished the season unranked 4 times during Carroll's reign. Oregon finally became relevant once Carroll left and the Trojans were put on probation by the NCAA and even then, they are 1-2 in bowl games. Like I said, 2 years of relevancy = 15 minutes. Your Daddy USC is back and looks like they will rule the Pac 12 as usual and those 15 minutes have expired. Only a Duck homer would believe the Duck program was good before and during the Carroll era. |

Texas Fight if you dont know dont talk.
Carrol started in 2001 at USC and went until 2009 Oregon won the conference in 1994 which sparked 18 years with only 1 losing season. Same time frame USC has had 4 non winning seasons. Oregon won the conference in both 2000 and 2001 and was 9-3 and second place in 1999. that is before and just as Carroll started. 2001 Oregon was ranked #2. Oregon was inconsistant while Carroll was at USC but they did have a few 2nd place conference finishes. not to mention the 2007 season when pretty much everyone who is anyone agrees that if Dennis Dixon didnt get hurt he was in for the Heisman and Oregon was on its way to the NC. In 2009 Oregon won the conference while Carroll was still there. Followed by 2 more years where Oregon won the conference. During Carrolls years Oregon went 77-36. USC including the forfeit wins was 97-19. Oregon had the second best record in the conference during Carrolls run. So again before during and after Caroll Oregon was and has been good. |
