Way true mutiny. Actually the bunch of us flat out suck. Least you've won a few games. The way it's going my season's going to look a lot like my golf seasons do - holding up the bottom rung of the ladder.

I've won a few but if I'm being honest, it's been a fair amount of luck. I'm the 2nd lowest scoring team in the league, 3rd worst in the breakdown category, and I've been playing the right team each week. So, there's alot of smoke and mirrors to my schedule. Although this last week that just ended, that was a good high scoring battle that went down to the last minutes of the Monday nighter before it was decided. It's hilarious to me that the last place team in our conference, the Steel Curtain, has a 3 - 0 record in the division. Makes no sense. I guess that's fantasy football for ya.

Mutiny, my Steel Curtain started out 3-0 till the injuries started happening. My draft plan was to go WR early and often, but Andre Johnson getting hurt, then Miles Austin twice, pretty much relegated me to picking the flavor-of-the week waiver wire WR wonders. And of course, my other early WR draftee, DeSean Jackson, has had a terrible season, along with the rest of the Eagles team.
My 3 money leagues have been pretty much the same. I went RB heavy in one, with Jamaal Charles, Frank Gore, and Beanie Wells. You know how well that turned out. And in another league, my first two picks were Chris Johnson and Philip Rivers. It took me till week 9 to get my first win with that one. Funny, the weakest team I drafted has the only shot at the playoffs for me. I lost Kenny Britt on that team but other than that had pretty good luck with injuries. |

I fell off the tighrope I've walked for the last month. Lost a somewhat low scoring (suprise?) closely contested game that was up in the air until the final fumble Eli dropped last night. Unfortunatley the points from that fumble, caused by my defense, still couldn't overcome the whiff from Manningham, Brandon Jacobs, and most notably (but not suprising any longer) CJ(.5)K. I ALMOST put Cribbs in my lineup too, still don't know why I had a good feeling about him against the Jags. Plus, I had 3 points from my Kicker wiped off the board by a DEFENSIVE penalty. Then, with a new set of downs, the Browns threw a pick and I got nothing! Sonufa!

2 point loss last week. 3 point loss this week. That's not good! Will the winner of the TBCL-West be over .500? Magic 8-Ball says "Chances are Slim".
Do you guys do a fantasy hoops league? |

I'm real surprised I eeked out a W over you mutiny.
Will the winner of the TBCL-West be over .500? Magic 8-Ball says "Chances are Slim".Looks pretty good they will since half the teams are at .500 or over now. Do we do fantasy hoops? If we did I don't remember. Don't know why we couldn't if there's enough interest. We also did college bowl pick-ems (the late great Nads always set that up) & fantasy golfs just around the corner. If you want to set something up feel free to do it. Just email everybody that's in the football league & post on here. |

PLAYOFFS!!!????? (insert Jim Mora soundbyte). Still much to be decided this last week of the regular season.
In the Central - RoadKill is on cruise control, locked up the #1 seed and hoping nobody gets hurt. In the East - Prime Time is playing the Mesa Mongrels this week. If the Mongrels win, there would be a tie in the records but the Mongrels would have to outscore PT by over 70 points, if my eyeball calculations are correct, to win the East, so PT looks pretty solid as the #2 seed no matter what happens. In the West - I'm battling it out with the Steel Curtain this week in a winner-take-all matchup for the division title and #3 seed. It'll be interesting to see if the guys we traded to each other (Newton and Mendenhall) end up coming back to haunt the team that traded them. I'm pretty worried about Mendy running all over the Browns after Ray Rice ran for 200 yards against them last week. For the wildcard spot - as things stand right now, it's the Mongrels. If the Mongrels win, they're in as the wildcard, unless they miraculously score enough points to take the division outright, which is not likely. If the Mongrels lose, the Ballbustas can sneak in with a W against Michwuf. It doesn't look like the BB's can beat the Mongrels in a tiebreaker if both teams win or both teams lose. If both teams lose, the DogPound could tie for the same records as the Mongrels and BBs but would probably not be able to score enough points to jump over them into the WC spot and be the #4 seed. |

mutiny, I wondered that myself. But we can fix that. You bench Cam and I will bench Mendy! What do you say, pal? ![]() I don't like trading within the division either, but it made sense for both of us at the time. I couldn't really use two stud QBs and really needed RB help, and you needed a starting QB. As bad as our records are, they would probably have been worse without the trade. Good luck. |

Looks like my Steel Curtain will make the playoffs with a stellar 7-7 record. With the injuries my team had, I am lucky to have that many wins, but that's mostly due to having the fewest points scored against me, not because I scored a lot. But, last year, I had the opposite luck where I had the 3rd best record and point total in the league and didn't make the playoffs because the first two were also in my same division. So it's karma, neh? Good luck everyone. It was an interesting NFL season, even if fantasy football was a little off. |

Yeah pretty much. Our departed founder, Nads, used to rag Jimbo about being a Dumbo & substituted the b with a underscore. Jimbo can explain it better than me. Time to tee it up, good luck Yep good luck to all! My guys are flying right now: 3, 4, 13 & 18. Might this be the year I'm not the one holding up the bottom rungs of the ladder? Heh heh. ![]() |
