Cat...they won't know for a while if they are buyers or sellers come August but either way they have/had a great run and will either tinker or rebuild. I rode the straight NL East titles the palyoff runs and the QWorld Series trips and win. I'll ride out what's about to happen. I remeber long and horrible periods smore than most so I'll ride the next period of quality whenever it comes and I'm not assuming it's over yet either.

Saw on a report, do not know if it is true, that Doc is out til maybe August.  That will hurt a team with so many injuries already.

That's the news coming out of Philly. On top of everything else it's a bad break but they are in "stay in the hunt mode " anyway If he returns when they are saying it still gives then 2 to 2 1/2 months to make a run. After the Giants and Cards the last couple of years,  I'm in the camp that thinks you just need to be in the neighborhood and then get hot.

8 weeks is August......

It's funny though that with Lee and Doc on their staff Hamels is clearly the ace now.

the phils have the pleasure of having 3-5 kids in the minors called the baby aces. i wouldn't trade any of them for a pitcher to replace doc. i would however trade victorstinko, mayberry, pierre and whatever bag of garbage i could for a decent pitcher. victorstinko and blanton are f/a - move them. the phils need help at 1b, 2b, sp - trade hamels bc he said and is firm on 7 yrs / $180 million. he's great, but his last win was not bc of him. he once again served up 2 home run balls. the offense bailed him out. he wants too much money and that money could be used to rebuild the team NOW and contend next year. get a 2b, try and do something with howard and rebuild right now. hamels and victorstinko alone could rebuild this team quickly and for a long run from 2013-and beyond.

ruben amaro is in the hot seat and he didn't get oswalt either. im not a fan of his, so i want him out. i want manual out too. it's sandberg's time. for his great hitting prowless, what has charlie manual ever won? the players won the 08 ws, not him. he wasn't even good enough to be a pro hitter. he had to play in the japan league in the 70's! yeah huge difference.

Let's not jump to conclusions.  There could be a logical explanation for him doing that

I pull my intestines out every Friday, no biggie.

feller in a walk. please. the guy missed prime years due to the war. pitched at 17 and k'd in his debut like 15 or 16 guys. koufax had a 4 yr run of greatness. feller was great his whole career !
