Good Thursday Morning GB10, nothing like 2 straight hours of meetings to start the day...UGH!!!

It was nice to see the 76ers show some resolve vs the Celtics in a win or go home game on their home court...not saying either team has the chops to defeat either the Spurs or Thunder, but think both teams are capable of giving the Heat a run for their money if Chris Bosh can't return to the lineup.


Thanks to poor performances from most of my hitters last night, I now trail Estle by 10 points...maybe that will be enough for him to show his face again since he's been pretty much MIA all week.  I'm still looking to trade an elite SP for an elite hitter (don't really care what position)...will even throw in Alejandro De Aza, Brian McCann, or Buster Posey to sweeten the deal if I have to.


I'm not exactly sure why the thread has been so dead as of late, but it's not like the league chat room has been booming either.  Hopefully some of the GB10 regulars at least have time to drop by and make a post...preferably with something intelligent to say, but at this point I don't think beggars can be choosy.

Interesting idea Dave, but my theory is that some of the vocal regulars on this thread are mostly front-runners that like to chirp about how great their team is when they are winning, but vanish like cockroaches when the lights are turned on as soon as their lucky streak ends.  Win or lose I'm here most every day during the work week (though certainly not the entire day) to talk mostly sports with whoever is capable of typing a cognitive thought of more than a few words and hitting the post button...guess that is why you've been ruled out.

I gave a $5000 check to the YMCA today to promote Safe Swimming to all the 4th graders in my town, got a cancer taken off my arm and a few trouble spots off my nose snd hands, tried to confirm who I have coming to a seminar I am sponsoring at 2pm today have to go home change and go to a networking after hours meeting and play sand volleyball on a bad leg I hurt this weekend because I committed to it, am trying to arrange a job interview for the son of my best friend a Dentist who invited me to the Red's game last night... his son has autism but he is highly funtional and studying IT... I have a member of a group I run that specializes in placing IT profesionals... that is the short list... sorry I can't hang out and talk baseball with someone counting pinto beans in a jar...

win or lose....  i just don't have alot of time to even play with myself lately and i really miss doing it.  lol 

usually i'm winning in fantasy, but this baseball season i have barely had time to check my line-up on monday.  been doing some homework lately tho and it's paying off.  along with the fact that my hitters are hitting.


Hawks - good luck on that trade.  waino and valverde just seem close to an injury, but seem healthy for now.  haren hoepfully will regain his form, but he might be hurt too.  thanks for dealing.  i picked up Heath Bell hoping he would regain his form as well.   i feel like the old Rams' gm with all of this hoping, but i think it will pay off.

I did a google search to try and locate where you copied this from, but all I got were links to steaming piles of bullshit****.  I'll try some other search engines before giving up, but might have to just to be resigned to the idea that you likely have countless years of stealing other people's stories while bellied up to some bar or strip club dance floor.

As for me, I don't try to persuade anyone into thinking what I do is particularly challenging to me (would likely be to those not possessing knowledge of Excel pivot tables and small group leadereship skills) or time consuming, but it pays the Bills without forcing me to spend countless days living out of a suitcase...that works for me.

No team has been catching opponents best performances on a weekly basis more than yours Austin, but I think your luck is turning and barring major injuries expect you to be in playoff contention by the end of the season.  I'm just glad you didn't pack it in when you got off to the horrendous start.

I vetoed the deal only because Adam Wainwright and Jose Valverde together imo have much more value than Dan Haren by himself, but given that you have RPs galore I can see why you threw him into the deal to get an acceptance from Marty.  That being said, there shouldn't be any worries that it won't go through since I'm not involved and imo none of the players included are real game changers.

I did not take any pics at the seminar with my Dr friend that invited me to the Red's game last night, but maybe I will Saturday when we hit some balls to see if we are ready to play golf after our Dr's siad it was ok. Fred has no life and is desperate for company to compare his "team of the century" to... In case you have not payed attention, Fred is the person with the avi that has his head up his ass. It is a penalty I imposed on him for being overtly blatently optimistic about his mediocre team after I opened up a Hall of Fame worthy can of whoopass on him. 

Maybe the two of you could become friends.

I've always been a sporadic poster so I don't fit in the afredmentioned comment. Hope everyone has a better weekend than me. I work through the whole thing but Sunday. 

 

By the time the missus comes home from her Vancouver trip on Wednesday, she will have been gone for 12 of the last 16 days. I scheduled that day off. She's in for a long hump day. I'll be sure to get her some ice packs for Thursday.

Good TGIF Morning GB10, to buy or not to buy a new 2011 Regal 2100 boat...that is the question

I didn't watch any of the series clinching victory by the Heat over the Pacers last night and didn't even see a single pitch in any MLB game so I'm just now catching up on what happened last night in the sports world.  Hakeem Nicks breaking his foot during a Giants OTA is surprising, but not as much as the Buccaneers trading Kellen Winslow to the Seahawks and then signing Dallas Clark to backfill his position.

I have cut Estle's lead in half (10 to 5 points) and now that he and I have the same number of SPs remaining (though he has one in a RP slot), I feel very comfortable that I will be able to reestablish my dominance before we get to the Sunday games.  Even with Brian McCann having missed the entire week so far with an illness and Buster Posey having a great week on my bench, I still believe that my lineup is going to score over 300 points...only time will tell.

I had no success in making a trade for an elite hitter the last couple of days, but at least I'm not getting the "what are you smoking and why aren't you sharing" responses that came with some of the declines from trade offers presented earlier this season...I may be finally beginning to figure out how some of these owners value certain players....we'll see.
