Atlanta Hawks Venting Room!

I'm also hoping the playoffs get the city and the fan base fired up, would love to see an atmosphere like there was in the 08 playoffs( especially compared to what everyone saw in the regular season when they came to town).

Next two games will be major ones, i honestly unfortunatly see a real good chance of us getting blown out tonight( or at least losing by double digits), but I'm hoping I'm wrong and that the Hawks can pull out on of these next two games to get homecourt back( they seem to play better when everyone doubts them anyway).

I was thinking the same thing, no Josh Smith 0 chance 2 win, but hey these are the Hawks and they win those types of games, played tuff but came up short. And i've asked this a million times, but can someone tell me why is Marvin Williams still a hawk? he has 1 good game out of 5, come on man you claim you want 2 have a bigger role in the offense, than take it!

WTF****... This is why folks don't support the team or look at me like I'm crazy for doing so. I looked forward to this game all day and what did we do... Get embarrassed. This just sucks! Trade Josh Smith now please. Do something, this is terrible.

I was unable to watch the game last night due to work. From what I read it was a tight game at the end. What are y'alls perspective? Was it more of the Celtics crappy play or the Hawks playing good defense?...I'm glad Horford is back!

People want to blame Josh Smith for all the Hawks failures but, the blame needs to be placed where it rightly deserves to be and that's  on Joe Johnson. Big money Joe  should play big in big games but, he rarely does in playoff games.  If Joe wants to be the highest paid player on the team and be paid as a superstar then by god act like a superstar. He never picked this team up on his shoulders and carried it by going for 30 plus point like guys like Kobe, paul, griffith, rose, lebron and wade seem to do.  If they can trade Johnson then that's what should be done  (maybe for  Dwight HOWARD ) and if not they should that amnesty clause and void his contract. I would resign smith  and  pay him accordingly to his true value to this team. Fact is we wouldn't have won any where near as many games without Smith.

You hit the nail right on the head Honesty Returns. I would put most of the blame on mr. 120 million dollar man. If you want to be paid like a superstar, than play like one!!!!! The last two or three years his numbers actually get worse during the playoffs, compared to the regular season. your numbers should go up, not down during the playoffs, thats when you take your game to the next level, if you think you are a superstar.

And lets not forget Mr. Draft lottery pick Marvin Williams. Seven points and five rebounds per game during the playoffs..really! But you are right about joe, i would have used that amnesty clause on him at the start of the season. Maybe ownership will, yeah right, idiots don't have a clue.

The blame, for the the finances of the team, goes on ownership. I don't blame Joe Johnson for signing that contract...Don't get me wrong. I don't think he's worth that much. Maybe not even half that much. The owners made a serious bonehead mistake. I'm curious to see what happens this off season.

I think they will blow the team up. The core of this team has been together for awhile now, and i think they have reached their zenith. So i would not be to opposed to change.

No way would i trade Horford. I would build the Hawks around J SMOOTH , HORFORD and Teague. The Hawks need a True center desperately. Now i would definatly put a package together for D. Howard with Joe Johnson being the centerpiece. Maybe JJ and Marvin Williams ,Collins and a draft pick for D.howard and TURK.

Actually i would'nt trade those guys either, i just have a feeling the wise guys who run the show will. They already were shopping j-smooth around during the season, thats why he asked to be traded. So i'am sure they will make some bone headed move.

Also i see the Hawks resigned their coach for another season, not sure how i feel about that. I think they could have found someone better, but drew is decent.

Trade them the Hawks midcap salary exception (7.2 mill ?) (cause you know  Atlanta wont use it ) as well as ....dare i say it Marvin Williams. After KOBE SHOT OFF HIS MOUTH EITHER KOBE OR GASOL has got too go and you know it's gonna be Gasol.

Nice...i forgot about the midlevel exception, they won't use it or the amnesty. But if they do hopefully someone will bite.

You know doomsday is right around the corner(draftnight) a very scary process, usually for the Hawks. We need to hit a homerun in the worst way in the upcoming draft. I hope the scouts are doing their homework. Because when the hawks draft, their will still be some talent left. They must make the right decision. Who knows they could even make some trades.

If you could only keep one player I think it would be Horford for me.  If youcan find a mate silly enough to take JJ ridiculous contract and maybe you trade several players for him.  How far fetched would it be to see Derron in ATL? t sure what you do but we got to change it up and hopefully we don't just have a fire sale and get nothing of value in return like we have in the past(rasheed for Bob Sura and some scrubs, Jason Terry for a washed up Antoine Walker, Steve Smith & Mookie for a troubled Isiah Rider, #3 pick Pau Gasol for Shareef A. Rahim, Kirk Hinrich for a budding Jordan Crawford...should I continue!!!) I think I justtalked myself into pulling for another team, not even going to mention the decade worth of horrible draft picks.  ATL has had a few good picks since 2000 Josh Smith, Al Horford, Pau Gasol, & Boris Diaw.
