the Heat could easily repeat.   the east is pretty weak this year outside miami.  and so is the west really.   The Spurs arent any better than last year... just a year older.   The Thunder just got worse.   No way to cut it.   James Harden is a great player.. and he fit that team.  I didnt like this move for them.   The Lakers are good.   I didnt panic last year when Miami lost regular season games.. I wouldnt be losing my cool like some laker fans are right now.   it's one game.    1/82.

the Lakers are a real threat to a Miami repeat and to a lesser extend the Spurs.   Outside of that.. no team has a chance to beat Miami 4/7.   No team.

"For the first time in the big 3 era, the Heat finally have a bench."

Remember 2 years ago when these jerks told us the Heat couldn't win because of their bench and that they would be hard pressed to score 10-15 points?

Our bench 2 years ago is the Lakers bench TODAY.

Our bench is amazingly deep.

At one point yesterday, we had Bosh/James on the bench and the 5 we had on the court would have been a better starting 5 then 80% of the teams in the league.

1) EXTREME DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY IN REPEATING AS CHAMPIONS - let alone asterisk champions.

2) THE COMPETITION (AKA "THE FIELD") IS BETTER THAN IT WAS LAST SEASON - when you won your asterisk title.
Jefe, those are not reasons. Those are HOPES. A reason would be finding a weakness or NAMING a more talented team and then providing sort sort of facts, statistics, ANYTHING, to back them up.
No, those are reasons why I believe the Heat are "One and Done".  I'm sorry, but IMO the securing of your one asterisk title fails to distinguish your team as one of those rare teams that have accomplished such a task.

You're the one who is hoping your team will consolidate it's asterisk title and win two more titles before LeBron's early termination option comes up, and you're the one who has already designated your coach into the Hall of Fame.

"No, those are reasons why I believe the Heat are "One and Done"."

Jefe, we can go back and forth forever, but those are not reasons based on anything factual or even opinion about the Heat roster vs the other teams who you say might/hopefully (for you) beat them.

A reason would be saying  the Celtics this, or the Lakers that, etc, but like I said, for ANY argument you can make for any team other then the Heat, they can easily be countered by making arguments for the Heat. Can things change? YES. OF COURSE. On any play on any night. But for NOW, as of today. Picking against the Heat is nothing but hope.

You are trying to compare the Heat vs past great Laker, Bulls, teams etc... and use that as some sort of standard, but it isn't. When measuring the potential of this Heat team and what their chances are, you can only try to measure that against the teams that they are currently faced to play.

As far as the other stuff, I said Spoelstra is on pace to become a HOF coach. Like I said, his %'s should increase, far before they decrease. To refer to him as a video coordinator at this point is assine , petty, and shows a general lack of knowledge as what it takes to become a success in almost any profession. You usually start towards the bottom and work your way up. He has done that and he has earned the respect of his players and anyone else in the league who you talk to or hear speak of him.  If you think for one second that a man of his talent, passion and knowledge couldn't find work in this league, you are grossly mistaken. There would be teams lined up to hire him as a head coach if he were available.

As far as James leaving, you really think if for some reason the Heat don't win the next 2 years that he is leaving?

I think you need to let whatever you smoked after the Lakers game last night wear off, your mind was alterted enough already.

Come on guys, LA Lakers almost can compete with Miami.   They are only a few players away from being totally up there....  say K. Durant and C. Paul.   Still not sure about their bench though?

Pretty sure LA can still get more great players, they just have to pay luxury tax.

Oh! I forgot, maybe that's the other star that LA need to compete with the Heat in two years.   Rather than waiting for K. Durant, Westbrook - 4 years?  K. Bryant will be over the hill then.

Factual?  I don't need facts to make a forecast you idiot!  Turnip, it's an opinion - an opinion that there is enough parity in the field to suggest to me that unlike those dynastic B2B teams in the past who have accomplished that feat, the Heat haven't distinguished themselves enough to make me believe that they will consolidate their lone asterisk title.
As far as James leaving, you really think if for some reason the Heat don't win the next 2 years that he is leaving?
Um, yeah, I do...turnip, we've been over this already!

then again it'll be nice and quiet with these flaker fans. i don't know how many more tears can be shed. nash is turning into fisher w the flakers, heck fisher might not even be as bad for the flakers since he can play some defense. now u got two ballhogs in dhoward and kobina and that makes the rest of the team useless, since these two clowns never makes other players better. princeton or ko-me dwight-me basketball, pick your poison.

I listed my reasons previously, you just failed to acknowledge them;

1) EXTREME DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY IN REPEATING AS CHAMPIONS - let alone asterisk champions.  It takes a very special team to distinguish themselves as repeat champions - a very, very rare feat in the annals of NBA history - I submit to you that your Miami Heat are NOT one of those teams, sorry.

2) THE COMPETITION (AKA "THE FIELD") IS BETTER THAN IT WAS LAST SEASON - when you won your asterisk title.  The Heat will be very hard pressed to overcome the pressure, not just of repeating, but of the overall talent level that awaits them in the postseason.

1) This happens ALL THE TIME in the NBA. It is not even REMOTELY difficult. It's happened TEN TIMES since 1988. That's 10 of of the last 25 years where the winner of the previous year won again the next year. that doesn't strike me as "extremely difficult.

2) The Thunder are WORSE (Harden trade). The Celtics are WORSE (OLDER). The 76ers are WORSE (Knucklehead Bynum for steady Igouldala) the Spurs are WORSE (OLDER). The Lakers are the only team in the running that can say they improved. And they are clearly showing that the decline of age and inexperience as a roster might be negating the improvement of the roster changes.  The Lakers look out of sync as an offensive unit similar to what the Heat faced in their first year together. Steve Nash has only been marginally better than Steve Blake. The "great bench scoring" from Antawn Jamison has been to the tune of 3.5 ppg. As expected (by non-Laker fans) their defense is AWFUL, 29th in the league in scoring defense.

Oh, and the Heat also also a LOT better as they added the best three point shooter in the history of the NBA to an offense that will feed him more wide open threes than he has ever had. MONEY.

Sometimes you can see the car crash coming from a mile away. And compared to the Heat Hater Club's affinity for attempting to foretell the future for the rest of LeBron James' career, I'd say I am pretty tame. Odds are that I will hit at a much higher rate than you boys, considering that it isn't hard to beat a batting average of .000.
