Prayers

May 18, 2012 8:32 am

ProudDad was one of the first friends I made when I first came to this board. When I found out he had Cancer and might not survive, it hit me hard, and I have been praying for his return to health and to this board. When I seen him posting again the other day I knew our prayers were answered. I continue to pray for ProudDad and all on this thread. Hope everyone is well and doing fine.
Once again the prayers of the faithful have been answered. Praise His Most Holy Name night and day because He hears the prayers of His people and responds with His great mercy and grace! It is no wonder that angels love Him and fly around His throne day and night and never stop proclaiming, 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty'!

Wow it is going to be a great day when Christ comes back.

Prayers

May 18, 2012 11:31 am

Man the prayer needs are piling up at our house right now:

1.  The 7th grade basketball player I put on this list the other day had her foot turn blue and the mom has taken her back to the doctor for x-rays.  Very odd thing to happen for a knee injury so please keep her in your prayers.

2.  We got a call last night that my wife's 92 year old grandmother was taken to the doctor and blood work came back way off and they ended up doing an emergency blood transfusion.  She is in ICU today and family is facing to get to the small town in Mississippi that she lives in.  My wife is a mess and is not taking this well at all and her dad (this is his mom and he is an only child) is a type 1 diabetic and stress is never good for a 65 year old diabetic.  Please keep all 3 in your prayers.

Praying for all you guys and have love in my heart for all as well.

Have a blessed weekend!

Holy Father, I lift up these requests to Your throne of Grace.  We don't know the nature of the injury to they young athlete and her foot/knee, but we know You do.  Touch her injuries, heal her, and restore her soul.  I also lift up the 92 year old lady and her blood condition.  We ask that the proper blood sugar levels be restored, and that she be restored whole to her family.  Give peace to WTs wife as she anguishes over her mother.  It is a helpless feeling to not be able to do much in a direct and tangible way to help. Give her the peace that passes understanding.

I don't know the person who asked the question about gays, and I don't know how sincere they are.  I do know that it is no sin to have an orientation, but engaging in extramarital sex is contrary to the will of God- whether it is hetero or homosexual.  We don't presume to judge these matters- there is a Lawgiver and Judge, and He is righteous and true.  He also forgives, cleanses, and restores the sin- sick soul.  Repent and believe in the Lord Jesus- that He shed His blood for you, and rose again to secure your redemption.  Receive the sealing of the Holy Spirit that will heal your soul and assure your eternal destiny with Him in heaven.  This offer is to all of us who are sinners- and we all are.  There is no sin which is lesser, or greater than another.  No one here is in a position to judge gay people as more sinful than any other sinner.

Mark 5:

Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man

17 One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick. 18 Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.

20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”
21 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
22 Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? 23 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 24 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. 26 Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.”

Hawgwild, I also praise God for ProudDad's cancer remission and I pray for his continued health.  This coming October, this thread will be seven years old, and many have come and gone during that time.  We have seen some of our brothers and sisters go home to be with the Lord and we have seen others receive healing and be restored to us.  I'm glad you have found us and I know our group will continue to bring to our Father the needs for healing, comfort, security, rest, and more.  We pray for those needs expressed and unexpressed and for blessings and truth to be imparted with love to all who come here.  I will keep on praying!!!   Let the glory be the Lord's!

Be God's!

Armyman, I stand in agreement with you and praise His Most Holy Name!  God works in many ways--openly or in secret, through others or through miracles, immediately or in His time--but He always works throughout whatever we go through.  Amen to His return!

WT, I am keeping the young lady in prayer for complete healing.  Father, give wisdom to the healthcare workers to identify the problem and resolve it.  Speak peace to this young lady and her family and friends and let them feel Your presence and Your comfort.  Give strength and endurance to the grandmother of WT's wife as she faces health concerns and lead the medical team to be successful and compassionate.  You know how we worry when those we love become ill.  Step into the middle of our lives and let Your word be recalled and Your promises remembered for Your faithfulness is new every morning and is great.  Help us trust in You with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding.  We entrust all aspects of our lives to You, knowing Your love is without limit.  Amen

Old Bat, we pray for any who ask in faith.  We hope to be a place of God's love and compassion and encouragement for those who come in peace.  I have many gay friends and I love them dearly.  We are all sinners saved by grace, not by our own behavior.  We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  His Son died so that ALL would have access to grace, forgiveness, and salvation, so why would I be any less?  If I speak without love, my witness is worthless.  It is sad that there are some in this world who call themselves God's "church" while spewing hate.  That is not from God, hate is not sanctioned in His word.

And I'm not getting the messages you displayed, so maybe He's already heard you?

Love your screen name (have you seen a real picture of me?  The name would be a good description but I sure don't look anything like your avatar anymore! lol  Looooong past that! Tongue out)

I recently lost an aunt to leukemia. I have just found out that her daughter, my cousin Jenny now has leukemia. She is only in her mid-forties and the leukemia she has is a milder kind that can be overcome with rigorous chemotherapy. Please pray for her as she now lay in hospital and is recovering from the initial attack.

Prayers

May 19, 2012 3:22 pm

Jesus stood with a group of His followers. In the distance, a crowd appeared, pushing a woman along in front of them. They cast her down at the Lord's feet and said, "What should we do with this adultress?" They hoped to trap Jesus into advising sin.

Aware of the trap, Jesus gazed deeply into the eyes of the people. He stooped down and scribbled in the dust.  He stood back up and said, "The one among you who is without sin, let him cast the first stone."

His answer struck like a bolt of lightning. Words of pure love and power exploded their conceit, and they were forced to look at the truth of God openly and honestly. The sin was not at issue. What mattered was forgiveness. The hateful crowd was shot through the heart by an arrow of God's goodness. Killed was the sin of unrighteousness.  God will expose it for what it is.

Father, turn my darkness into light, O Lord, and guide me away from things that are sinful and wrong. Teach me to love my neighbors rather than judge them. Let me cast love and peace, instead of stones in the name of our loving Savior, Amen.

Armyman, I am sorry for the loss of your aunt.  Jenny will be in my prayers for healing and comfort.  Lord bless you for being so caring.

Father, we lift Jenny to You and ask that You touch her with Your healing hands.  Impart Your peace to her during this time and give wisdom to the healthcare workers to guide them in accuracy and compassion as they treat her.  Speak Your comfort and assurance to Jenny and her family and friends.  Enable them to be support to Jenny in this time.  We place our lives in Your hands, knowing Your promises and trusting Your love and Your will.  We pray in Jesus' name, Amen

I talked with our sister Anita last night.  She had a visit from a Jehovah's Witness, and the young woman was unable to answer Anita's questions.  Anita invited her to engage in an ongoing Bible study to discuss the questions, and the young woman agreed only if she could bring a man from her church with her.  I spent last night giving Anita the history and the Biblical passages that JWs usually cannot answer.  I recommended she invite them to use their Bibles so they couldn't claim mistranslation on Anita's Bible (I also gave Anita the history of the JW Bible translator, under oath in a court case, admitting he did not know Hebrew or Greek).  Please keep Anita in prayer as she shares the love of God and the truth of scripture with the people who decide to join her in study.  Speak the truth in love!

I love seeing this thread so busy, praise our Savior for that!  Thank you, Tony, and everyone else for the prayers about that situation... I meant to say that before, and I just forgot!  Continuing to lift all of you up, along with your needs and the needs of loved ones mentioned.

Something I've seen a lot of lately, there are so many false teachings out there when it comes to Christianity, and it never hit me as hard as it did when a friend who has always been a wonderful Christian is struggling with it, yet doesn't even realize it.  Not just for his sake, but for the sake of everyone, we need to pray that God's Word is always taught as the Truth that it is, without adding to or taking away.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone, and God bless!
