Yet another disappointing loss today for the Tigers being shutout 2-0 against the Texas Rangers, dropping their record to 3-7. Justing Verlander was the lone positive in this afternoon's game, but saying that Verlander was incredible once again. Even though being roughed up in the seventh, Justin still went the distance pitching his first complete game of the season. For the most part Verlander neutralized the streaking Texas bats, only allowing 2 earned runs on 6 hits. Verlander has recorded a quality start in each of his first 3 outings, which shows his solid consistency, a bright spot for things to come. So far Justin looks like he is in mid-season form which hopefully should lead to some Tigers wins. Aside from JV there were not many bright spots, other than another solid game from Miguel Cabrera. The other Tiger bats though struggled greatly against the young hard-thrower Alexi Ogando, only mustering 2 hits against the righty. Ogando has pitched fantastic in his first 2 starts, proving his worth in the Rangers rotation. On the tigers side of things, they were embarrassed for the third straight game against a somewhat unproven pitcher. Ill end on a positive note, thanking Jim Leyland for finally making a good managerial decision of sitting the struggling Austin "strikeout" Jackson. Jackson has been in a serious sophomore slump since opening day, without Jackson reaching base in the lead-off hole this will be a VERY long season for my Detroit Tigers. Lets hope Penny can figure out his mechanics and put a four spot in the Tigers win column.
