RB Ingram to slip out of the first round?

If I've learned one thing in my years as an NFL Draft analyst it is that when several of us come to a consensus that Player A will be drafted by Team A at any spot other than the No. 1 overall, we're all usually wrong.

This may prove to be the case again this year.

Many draft prognosticators, including Chad Reuter and I , have pegged the Miami Dolphins to select Alabama running back Mark Ingram with the No. 15 overall pick. This selection, in fact, may be the most agreed upon pick in the entire first round, including No. 1 overall, at this point.

Which is all the more reason why I decided to investigate it further.

Though sources throughout the league certainly recognize the Dolphins' need at running back, they'd be surprised if Miami took Ingram.

One source simply didn't feel that Ingram was worth a first round pick -- something I argued vehemently .

Others thought Ingram was a "legitimate first round player," but cited the decreasing value of running backs in today's NFL as reason enough why Ingram would not only slip past Miami, but perhaps out of the first round, entirely.

"I agree with you. He's a helluva player, but history has proven that you can find running backs later in the draft," one high-ranking team source said.

"Are you really getting the bang for your buck by taking a back in the first round?"

Ingram is NFLDraftScout.com's top-rated running back and No. 12 player, overall . We view him as a first round value. Apparently, several teams, on the other hand, do not.

RB Ingram to slip out of the first round?

Ingram is a big risk for a team to take.  He's slow and injury-prone.

RB Ingram to slip out of the first round?

crazy man. these "experts" crack me up. newton had a great year last year and earned the heisman and championship. and he is projected on some boards to go 1st. overall. one awesome year and he is the holy grail of QB. well ingram had the same type of year in 09 and more polished to start his rookie year. and the "experts" have him droping out of the 1st. rd. com' on man. ingram has more talent at RB then newton has at QB.  i would love to have ingram in a dolphin jersey.

RB Ingram to slip out of the first round?

As a dolphin fan, I'd love to see them trade their pick at 15 and get a later round 1 pick and a late round 2 (which they don't have) and get Ingram anyway.  I wish these mock draft EXPERTS would put in a trade or two.  Now that would be a great call on their part.

RB Ingram to slip out of the first round?

I agree.  Ingram will be taken in the 1st round.  There has never been a draft without an RB picked in the first round and it won't happen this year either.  Ingram is hungry for the endzone even though there is the sentiment that he is too slow.  I don't think his speed is going to be an issue when he's near the endzone.  He is a beast inside the 20!

RB Ingram to slip out of the first round?

There's a DII RB named Isaac Odim that put up better pro day numbers than Ingram

RB Ingram to slip out of the first round?

There's no way he slips out of the first round.  Too good of a talent.  If he does though, my Bengals would be wise to jump all over him.  He would be the steal of the draft if he slipped that far.
