With the news of Patriots running back Laurence Maroney going on Ir Monday before the Monday night demolishing of the Broncos and the stellar performance of Sammy Morris, at first I was a bit concerned. Even if Maroney is a soft player, who is a sure fire bust so far, I felt he could still contribute to the team's rushing attack but it is becoming obvious that the team may be better off without him anyway.

Maroney showed so much promise in the beginning of his career but has since gone down hill. I remember when he first came out of Minnesota with the Pats, everyone in New England was raving about how he was a hard-nosed runner. Maroney said things like he never runs out of bounds, and that he loved the Walter Payton drill in college. Now he wont even lower his shoulder and push for an extra two yards to get a first down.

The guy is always hurt, thats fine but when will he be able to start to play through some pain. It wont be this season and I guessing it wont be next season either.
